Say you’re working on something and you need to go get a cup of coffee. Unless you lock your PC, others may be able to access your files. Your significant other may covertly take a look at what you’re doing, a coworker might snoop in, your child may get on the PC and potentially mess things up. WinLockr makes sure your privacy and your data are protected. It does this providing an efficient means of locking and unlocking your PC.

WinLockr does not need to be installed. To get started with the application you need only download and run a small executable. Of course, you can put the WinLockr executable on a portable storage device and take the application with you.

Access to WinLockr is password protected. When you run the application for the first time you will be asked to enter and reenter a password. After that you will be presented with a very straightforward interface. From said interface you can pick one of two methods to unlock your PC (password or USB unlock), you can create a desktop shortcut that will lock your PC when you click it, and you can put your Windows-powered PC on lockdown.

When the application locks your PC, it minimizes all open windows and displays a WinLockr by BBS window. Said window tells you when the PC was locked, displays all unlock attempts, and all shutdown attempts. Type in your password and the PC will be unlocked. Or if you go with the USB unlock feature, plug your USB stick in and the PC will be unlocked.

WinLockr is a free application. Do consider making a donation if you enjoy using the application.

Quickly lock your PC and easily unlock it. With WinLockr you can unlock it by using a password or by using a USB stick.

Pros

WinLockr does not have to be installed. Access to the application is password protected. Two unlock types: USB unlock and password unlock. Two USB unlock settings: allow only USB unlock; allow password unlock. Create a handy desktop shortcut; click it and your PC will be locked. All unlock attempts and shutdown attempts are displayed onscreen. WinLockr is freeware.

Cons

Some may say this application is a bit too basic.
